A Physiotherapy as a treatment for gait changes in patients with Parkinson's

Abstract

Parkinson's disease is highly prevalent in society, causing loss of functionality. The objective of this systematic review was to verify the importance of techniques in Physiotherapy to treat motor function in the patient with Parkinson's Disease. This is a systematic review, searchings databases: PubMed, Medline and SciELO. Articles that talked about motor function in Parkinson's, Physiotherapy in patients with Parkinson's were considered, following the recommendations of the PRISMA Declaration. The results point to an improvement in Physiotherapy in the motor function from patients that was in the study. In the analysis, all articles proved the effectiveness of the methods. Four articles presented the use of robot-assisted walking, showing that the motor function was improved in the end, two articles discussed the double task during motor function and the other articles discussed virtual reality, electroacupuncture, underwater walking, auditory suggestions, cycle ergometer and treadmill, all showing improvement in motor function characteristics at the end of the study. The method and therapy chosen despite the results needs to be evaluated according to the condition of each patient. But we can say that Physiotherapy has positive effects in the treatment of regain the motor function in patients with Parkinson's.
