Hora ouro: o primeiro contato entre mãe e recém-nascido

Abstract

Introduction: The golden hour is considered the first contact between mother and baby after birth, whether by vaginal delivery or cesarean section. The most important action for a baby is to have him with his mother immediately after birth so that when he comes out of the pattern of intrauterine life, he can initiate bond with your mother. Objective: To describe the experience of women who experienced and did not experience the golden hour: the first skin-to-skin contact between mother and newborn. Methodology: This is an exploratory-descriptive, retrospective field research with a qualitative approach. Data collection will be carried out virtually through social media groups (Facebook) aimed at mothers who experienced and did not experience this moment. Result: Based on the data collected from the interviews, it was possible to describe a profile based on individual experiences. Thus, we noticed a lack of information and guidance during prenatal consultations or mothers who had information and guidance, but who had complications during or postpartum, which made skin-to-skin contact impossible. Conclusion: Many women are not informed about good practices of skin-to-skin contact during pregnancy by health professionals, but most of them received the information only during the postpartum period. It should be noted that skin-to-skin contact is extremely important due to the benefits it provides for both the mother and the newborn. For this process to be successful, there must be dedication and knowledge of the multidisciplinary team to stimulate skin-to-skin contact.
