Abstract

Tuberculosis is considered an infectious disease caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Transmission takes place through an individual with the most contagious form of TB, pulmonary. The diagnosis is made through clinical history, physical examination, tests, bacilloscopy and rapid test. Regarding the treatment, to start it it is necessary to carry out tests in order to contain the bacillus that is resistant to the treatment scheme. In 2017, the National Plan to End Tuberculosis as a Public Health Problem was created, which was planned by the Ministry of Health with the idea of putting into practice the eradication of Tuberculosis. One of the factors that caused the difficulty of eliminating TB are the barriers that the population faces in accessing health services. This delays the correct diagnosis and treatment of the disease. The study has as its theme: “Epidemiological profile of patients affected by tuberculosis in Araguaína-TO from 2016 to 2022: Subsidies for nursing care and health education actions”. Epidemiological studies are fundamental as they provide information on the incidence, prevalence and distribution of diseases in a given population, being necessary for understanding the health needs of communities.
