Gravidez na adolescência: Percepções e vivências

Abstract

Introduction: Adolescence is a period of physical and emotional transformations, with sexuality as an inherent and fundamental component in people's lives and health. Objective: To identify the perception of pregnant teenagers about the information necessary to discuss the issue of early pregnancy and provide support for the construction of educational technology. Method: Methodological research with an exploratory and qualitative approach, aiming to approach the target audience, the focus of the production of educational technology in health, structured interviews were carried out, with the data systematized and analyzed using the content analysis technique, with identification of generating themes for booklet construction. Results: 30 pregnant adolescents participated in the study, 26 (87%), aged between 15 and 19 years old and four (13%) between 10 and 14 years old. 23 (77%) stated that they did not want to get pregnant and seven (23%) expressed that they wanted pregnancy. 29 (96.7%) responded that they had knowledge about contraceptive methods and one (3.3%) that, as they had no one to talk to, they did not know about the subject. Conclusion: The beginning of the study participants' sexual life was early, unaccompanied by information regarding pregnancy prevention measures and access to contraceptive methods; despite knowing what contraceptive methods are, some consciously neglected the prevention of pregnancy and others revealed a lack of knowledge about correct use.
