Resumen

Women pharmacists, the majority in the professional class, work in different workplaces, exposing them to various forms of violence. As women, they also may suffer domestic violence. However, studies that assess violence suffered by women pharmacists do not exist. This study aims to describe the profile of incidents of violence involving women pharmacists at the workplace and at home. This is a descriptive study based on a survey applied to pharmacists enrolled in the Minas Gerais Regional Council of Pharmacy, addressing experiences of gender violence in the home and work environment. A descriptive analysis was carried out as well as a comparison of the proportion of incidents (Pearson's chi-square test). A total of 455 pharmacists answered the questionnaire, most of them female (83.7%). Violence involving a pharmaceutical colleague in the workplace was reported by 20.4% of respondents. Among the women, 23.1% reported suffering violence and 22.6% (n=86) sexual harassment in the workplace. About 13% of women pharmacists reported having experienced domestic violence. Gender violence against women pharmacists in their workplace and at home is frequent, demanding combat and prevention.
