Abstract

Stroke is a serious disease where it can have devastating consequences for a patient, affecting future quality of life. For this reason, this work aims to discuss the role of nurses in caring for suspected patients and / or victims of stroke, emphasizing the need for urgent measures to be taken for an emergency service in order to guarantee treatment comprehensive stroke and thus guarantee the patient's survival, thus optimizing his clinical condition. A cross-sectional bibliographic search was carried out, carried out by collecting data and information published in scientific articles, electronic journals from the years 2016 to 2020, with a total of 554 articles, from which 24 articles were selected for analysis. content. It was observed that the stroke is a complex disease that requires the efforts and skills of all members of the multidisciplinary team. Nurses play a fundamental role in all phases of stroke patient care, being essential for an adequate and comprehensive assistance with synchronism and speed to stroke victims, in order to reduce sequelae and health costs.
