Frailty-associated diseases: a Multiple Correspondence Analysis

Abstract

In the environment there are multiple diseases that afflict the elderly, some with more severity than others, certainly knowledge in this area and diseases associated with others can improve the effectiveness of medical care and reduce the risk of morbidity and mortality, the objective of the study is to analyze the variables that affect the fragility in a health center type "A" of the canton Píllaro; The objective of this methodology is to observe how much associativity the different diseases and illnesses have, in addition to this, to observe the iteration with age, by means of which it will be possible to forge a framework of determining factors; as a result, frailty is associated with ages around 72 years and with conditions such as cognitive deterioration; on the other hand, there is a certain associativity with the posterior quadrant, in conditions such as diabetes, hypertension and sarcopenia, the latter being diseases that are around 83 years of age; In conclusion, it can be asserted that if it is desired to ratify whether an older adult has frailty, it is not pertinent to observe only age, but all those adverse conditions that promote associativity in conjunction with age.
