Abstract

Corona Virus Disease (Covid-19), is a pandemic infectious disease of the coronavirus. Patients with the most severe form of the disease require hospital support, for the most part, for a long period of time, compromising the muscular system, especially those of the lower limbs. This study aimed to analyze medical records of patients who were affected by covid-19 and underwent a period of hospitalization. A quantitative approach was used and the data collection took place in May 2022. A specific form was used and the variables of patient age, sex, pre-existing pathologies, sequelae presented after Covid-19, conducts and/or or interventions carried out by the teams. Most patients were aged between 50 and 60 years, male, with preexisting pathologies, such as hypertension and diabetes Mellitus. The main post-Covid-19 sequelae were muscle weakness and respiratory fatigue and the main procedures used were breathing exercises, strength and muscular endurance training and aerobic exercises. It was concluded that most patients who sought health units were referred to other health services. Furthermore, as it is a pathology that still requires in-depth elucidations, further studies are necessary regarding the expansion of the physiotherapist's care in this context.
