A implementação do Programa Brasil Sorridente na especialidade da Ortodontia no Sistema Único de Saúde: uma revisão sistemática

Abstract

Promote orthodontic care, whether preventive and/or interceptive, consists of a strategy of ensuring physical and psychological health, especially children and adolescents. It is at this point that there is a need to improve these care in the public health, aiming to promote both functional and aesthetic well-being for the patient of the public health network. It turns out that it is evident that orthodontics has not yet found solid space in these places. Given this, the present study aimed to present the importance that orthodontics has for the Unified Health System (SUS). For this it sought to evaluate the implementation of the Smiling Brazil program in the specialty of Orthodontics in SUS. The methodology was conducted a systematic review study based on periodic databases, Google Academic, Scielo, Lilacs and PubMed, whose temporal cut was between 2018 and 2022, resulting in 20 studies collected, analyzed and discussed in this research. In the results it is clear that the effective implementation of Orthodontics actions in SUS reduces the indices of dental malocclusion in Brazil and enables access to treatments to more needy and needy people.
