Abstract

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a condition that affects neurodevelopment and impairs areas such as learning, communication, social interaction and behavior. These changes directly affect children and their families, which requires early multidisciplinary assistance to provide better child development and, consequently, contribute to family adaptation to this context. This study identified and analyzed the national scientific production in Nursing journals, which published about children with ASD. The integrative review included national journals classified in the Qualis strata A1, A2, A3, A4 and B1 according by the classification of the four-year period 2017-2020. The search for articles, without time limit, was carried out from July to October 2023 and the final sample was 31 articles. The results showed 61% of journals in stratum B1, 65% of articles in the last five years, 65% with a qualitative approach and 58% focused on family members, fathers and/or mothers of children with ASD. The results indicate that health professionals need to invest in training and carrying out research with a focus on nursing and multidisciplinary care for children with ASD, in order to contribute to the inclusion and quality of life of these children and families.
