Desafios para o controle da sífilis Congênita no Brasil
Abstract
Introduction: Congenital syphilis is an infectious disease of chronic origin caused by the bacterium Treponema pallidum, with compulsory notification and has had surprising increases in recent years. Objective: to point out the challenges faced over the years in controlling and combating congenital syphilis in Brazil. Method: Systematic review of the national literature. The data presented come from articles published between January 2014 and January 2019. The search was carried out in the Latin American and Caribbean Literature on Health Sciences (LILACS) databases; Nursing Database (BDENF); and SCIELO. The following descriptors and respective Boolean operators were used for crossing: "Syphilis" and "congenital syphilis" and "nursing. The sample consisted of 13 articles judged to be of interest to the study. Results and discussion: Negative factors were observed, such as: late examinations, difficult access to results, poor knowledge on the part of the population and also of professionals, as well as the increase in CS rates have been related to greater efficiency of records in the notification systems. Final considerations: for syphilis control, therefore, better coverage is needed through the ESF's, quick tests that are easily accessible to the population, and health education on the subject.
