Análise da Distribuição Espacial de Doenças Infectocontagiosas no Estado do Tocantins
Abstract
This study aims to analyze the geographic distribution of infectious diseases in microregions of Tocantins. It is a retrospective epidemiological study, based on notified and confirmed cases of compulsory notification infectious diseases obtained from the Notifiable Diseases Information System. The collected data were organized and treated using descriptive statistics, using the Microsoft Office Excel program, version 2019, for data tabulation and descriptive analysis. Of the 220 confirmed cases of pertussis reported in Tocantins, 52% of the total number of cases are in Porto Nacional. Schistosomiasis has cases registered in the microregions of Porto Nacional, Araguaína and Rio Formoso, with an approximate percentage of 52% of cases in Porto Nacional. The number of cases of typhoid fever was registered in only 3 cases in the microregion of Bico do Papagaio. Meningitis had 466 cases reported in the microregions under study in the state of Tocantins, with a prevalence in the microregion of Araguaína with 382 cases. Thus, it is extremely important to have an active and sensitive epidemiological surveillance system so that there is continuous monitoring that allows effective actions to reduce the number of cases or even eradicate these diseases.
