Abstract

This study aimed to carry out an integrative review of the main scientific evidence on the mental health of nursing professionals when facing COVID-19. This is a Integrative Review type study. The search for articles was carried out from July to October 2023, through the Virtual Health Library (VHL) and its indexed bases MEDLINE, LILACS and BDENF – Nursing. 12 articles were selected, which ended up in two categories: The impacts of the pandemic on the mental health of the nursing team and Ways of coping for nursing professionals.  Thus, it is clear, through this survey, that the mental health of nursing professionals is greatly compromised due to the pandemic situation. The ways of coping that professional nurses used during the pandemic were diverse, such as spiritual and religious practices, physical activity, balanced diet, support from mental health specialists. The global health crisis has resulted in significant physical, emotional and psychological impacts on these individuals.
