Abstract

The present study aims to describe the application of therapeutic toys as a complementary resource in pediatric oncology treatment. Through an integrative review, articles published between the years 2014 and August 2024 were investigated in the PubMed and Latin American and Caribbean Literature in Health Sciences (LILACS) databases, using the key terms "Toy", “Therapeutic Application”, “Child”, “Treatment” and “Cancer”. The selected studies highlight that therapeutic toys significantly contribute to reducing anxiety and stress in children during medical procedures, in addition to facilitating adherence to oncological treatment. In summary, the review highlights the importance of integrating therapeutic toys as an essential resource in the care of children undergoing cancer treatment, promoting not only emotional benefits, but also collaborating with the clinical aspects of the treatment.
