Abstract

The study aims to describe the profile of QRCs and discuss the importance of pharmaceutical care and the application of integrative and complementary health practices (ICHP) in these communities. This is a qualitative, descriptive and exploratory study, based on pharmaceutical consultations in two QRCs in the state of Pará, where the residents' personal profile, family history and use of medicines and other ICHP were analyzed by filling out a physical medical record, establishing appropriate interventions for each case. There was a predominance of women aged 29-59, with frequent consumption of alcoholic drinks and ultra-processed foods (122/163; 75%) at unregulated times. There was an incidence of hypertensive individuals, with complaints related to headaches, stomachaches and back pain. 23.65% (38/163) of the residents reported having some kind of allergy to the medication used and 12% (19/163) had some difficulty related to its use. 50.44% (82/163) reported using ICHP, especially phytotherapy (82/82; 100%). Among the interventions, counseling (160/163; 98%) and pharmaceutical prescription (100/163; 61%) stand out. This study contributes to understanding the development of pharmaceutical care in quilombo areas.
