Análise dos casos de gestantes com diagnóstico de COVID-19

Abstract

Objective: To analyze the maternal-fetal outcome of patients diagnosed with COVID-19 in a reference maternity hospital in the state of Piauí. Methods: This is a case-control study that was developed in two maternity hospitals in the city of Teresina-PI. The sample comprised 300 pregnant women, admitted between 2020 and 2021, who were distributed into two groups: case - 150 with diagnosis of COVID-19; control - 150 without evidence of infection. Data collection was performed using a specific instrument, composed of sociodemographic and clinical variables in the period from December 2021 to January 2022. Analysis was performed based on the principles of descriptive and inferential statistics. Results: The pregnant women inserted in the case group had statistically higher proportion of complications, the occurrence of premature labor, oligohydramnios, vaginal bleeding and cesarean section. Moreover, the highest occurrence of complications and neonatal changes was recorded among pregnant women diagnosed with COVID-19. Conclusion: Pregnant women with COVID-19 had a statistically higher proportion of complications compared to the control group, expressed by the occurrence of oligohydramnios, vaginal bleeding, premature labor and cesarean section, with associated comorbidities mainly hypertension and diabetes.
