Cinematerapia e educação para a morte: uma possível atuação do psicólogo na escola
Abstract
During childhood, the death of loved ones can be a source of suffering and have consequences for children's mental health. Children feel and understand death, however, depending on their age and development, they may not fully understand the concept related to living and dying, which reinforces the importance of clear and honest communication on the subject. As a tool to aid in communication and expression of grief, cinema therapy uses films in which viewers can identify with characters who face situations similar to their experiences. This article aims to present cinema therapy as a proposal for intervention about death by psychologists in schools. It corresponds to action research with 4th grade children, carried out in a municipal school in Gurupi-TO. Among the results, the use of films together with the planned activities and the welcoming space facilitated the children's understanding of death and grief as part of the cycles of life, allowing them to express their emotions and experiences in a natural and safe way. Finally, the research suggests the importance of psychoeducation about death in school contexts with the use of films combined with playful activities, support and information.
