CONSTRUÇÃO E VALIDAÇÃO DE MATERIAL EDUCATIVO SOBRE HANSENÍASE PARA CRIANÇAS E ADOLESCENTES MENORES DE 15 ANOS

Abstract

Introduction: Leprosy is a chronic infectious disease caused by Mycobacterium leprae, whose incidence in children and adolescents indicates the expansion of the endemic, making health education essential as a strategy for prevention and social awareness. Objectives: To describe the process of constructing and validating a playful educational tool aimed at promoting health awareness about leprosy, enabling the recognition of warning signs and symptoms. Methods: A methodological, descriptive, and observational study, using a questionnaire adapted to a Likert scale and open-ended questions, applied to 15 expert judges in the areas of health and education, through an online form, with data analysis in Excel for validation of the educational instrument. Results: The material obtained 100% approval from the judges, with 40% of suggestions related to improving spelling and linguistic refinement, confirming its relevance and applicability to the target audience. Conclusion: The promotion and prevention of leprosy depend on effective educational strategies; Therefore, validating the tool is essential to ensure an appropriate educational technology capable of facilitating children's and adolescents' understanding of the disease, contributing to early diagnosis, reducing stigma, and strengthening public health.
