Abstract
Objective: To evaluate nurses' perception of the patient safety culture in primary care in the context of the elderly's health. Methods: Descriptive-exploratory, quantitative and cross-sectional study conducted between february and june 2020 with primary care nurses from two administrative regions of the Federal District. Results: The nurses' perception was positive (3,30), but several domains need to be improved: pressure and work pace (1,89), exchange of information with other institutions (2,86), team training (2,91) and support from managers in patient safety (2,95). A significant association was identified between the variables general perception of patient safety and age (p = 0,001) and the time since graduation (p = 0,003); in the dimension issues related to safety and quality, it was observed that the older the age (p = 0,037) and the time working in the service (p = 0,023), the worse the safety culture in this dimension. Conclusion: The evaluation of the patient safety culture in the context of the elderly's health is necessary so that the services can identify domains and variables that need attention so that strategies can be carried out in order to guarantee quality and free care.
