Abstract

Mother-to-child transmission or vertical transmission is the main route of HIV infection in children. Thus, the precariousness levels still epidemic. Identify that early prenatal care reduces vertical HIV transmission. In 2020, a systematic search of the scientific literature of the main biomedical databases was carried out: PUBMED, LILACS, BVS and Scielo between the years 2000 and 2020 for screening articles on Vertical HIV Transmission. It is evident that the lack of adequate prenatal directly influences on the outcome of maternal-fetal HIV/AIDS infection because it does not allow a safe strategy to avoided contamination. IN this scenario, the regions that have fewer offers of services and that prenatal care is later, the level of vertical transmission of HIV is higher. Thus, in, Brazil, there are regions where there is a need for more effective public policies to mitigate such problems.
