Profile of nurses in the Family Health Strategy and their relationship with work in a city in the interior of Tocantins - Brazil
Abstract
The profile of professional nurses has historically been subjected to constant changes, which are related to the economic, educational, political, and ideological conditions of society in their respective periods. The objective was to describe the sociodemographic characteristics of nurses in the Family Health Strategy, contemplating their trajectory of training and professional performance, reflecting on the possible influences on Primary Health Care (PHC). This is descriptive research, with a quantitative and qualitative approach. The study population was 20 (twenty) nurses from the FHS from the municipality of Paraíso do Tocantins, TO, Brazil. For data collection a structured questionnaire was used. There was a predominance of female births (85%), and a young workforce in terms of age. Regarding training, there is a high number of nurses who have graduate degrees, especially in areas other than their area of expertise. Regarding professional experience and affinity to their field, the data show that 55% worked predominantly in the PHC and 50% are attached to this level of health care. In view of the data analysis, a discrepancy can be seen about the professional profile and the premises of the PHC, especially regarding the areas of specialization and affinity of the professionals. Thus, potentially interfering with the health services offered.
