Relatos clínicos de sequelas respiratórias dos pacientes que testaram positivo para COVID-19 nos territórios de saúde Krahô ii e Apinajé na cidade de Palmas-TO

Abstract

The SARS-CoV-2 virus is the cause of COVID-19, a disease that spread quickly, being declared a pandemic. The means of transmission is through direct contact with contaminated people through respiratory secretions, saliva or indirect contact, through contaminated objects. According to the World Health Organization, about 80% of infected people may be asymptomatic or have mild symptoms, approximately 20% require hospital care and 5% may need ventilatory support. This is a quantitative study that aimed to describe the respiratory sequelae of patients who tested positive for COVID-19 and who presented symptoms after 14 days of isolation in two health territories in Palmas-TO. The main respiratory sequelae reported were shortness of breath 26.7%, muscle weakness 22.2%, fatigue on exertion 15.6% and at rest 15.6%. The contamination caused by the COVID-19 infection generates functional and hemodynamic repercussions, causing impairments in the individual's functional capacity and in daily and work activities, resulting in a negative impact on quality of life.
