Intoxicação exógena por agente tóxico no município de Gurupi

Abstract

The intoxication is a public health problem of global importance. In 2012, the World
Health Organization (WHO) reported that 193,460 people died worldwide due to
unintentional poisoning. In Brazil, in 2011, the notification of Exogenous Poisoning is
mandatory. The objective is to describe the data of exogenous intoxication by toxic agent
registered in the Information System of Notifiable Diseases (SINAN), in the municipality
of Gurupi, from 2017 to 2021. This is a quantitative research, of a descriptive nature. ,
performed using secondary data collected through SINAN, available at the Department
of Informatics of the Unified Health System (DATASUS). Data were collected regarding
reports of exogenous intoxication by the municipality of Gurupi, in the period from 2017
to 202. average of 78.8 notifications per year. The year with the highest number of
notifications was 2019, with a total of 142 notifications. Promoting the education of health
professionals regarding toxicology, as well as the use of reporting systems and their
correct assessment are useful tools for minimizing harm.
