SKILLS MAPPING OF SURGICAL CENTER NURSING TECHNICIANS IN A HOSPITAL IN INTERNATIONAL BORDER REGION

Abstract

The nurse manager delivers results from people under his supervision, and the role of the nursing technician is the practice of the team, which collective action is directed towards the provision of humanized care in the different phases of the care process, including in Surgical Centers. Objective: To map the competencies of nursing technicians who work in the Surgical Center (SC) unit of an institution located in a border region, Brazil-Paraguay-Argentina. Materials and methods: Qualitative approach research with nursing technicians in a public hospital, being carried out in three stages: documental research, semi-structured interview and competence mapping. Data collection took place from April to May 2019. Results: The analysis of documents identified 24 technical activities, 11 administrative and two others related to ethical issues. Conclusion: Competency mapping allowed the identification of competencies that were mentioned by nursing technicians who work in the sector and that are not included in the institution's documents as required competencies. It is expected that the survey data provide support for the qualification and development of skills of the professionals in the CC nursing team.
