Abstract

The study aimed to evaluate the morphological characteristics, nutrient content and biomass production of vetiver grass cultivated in different populations. The research consisted of a field experiment with vetiver grass in different plant populations (1, 2, 3 and 4 plants per meter) of 1.0 m. A randomized block design with four replications was used and morphology and biomass production were evaluated. The increase in plant population decreases the number of profiles and the length of the clump conditions, while fresh and dry biomass productivity, N, P and K contents in leaves and their supply are not affected by the planting population between 1 and 4 plants m-1. However, population of 1 or 2 plants m-1 are the most efficient, as they require less seedlings and work.
