Manejo dos profissionais da Atenção Primária em Saúde frente à Violência Autoprovocada em um Território de Saúde em Palmas - TO.
Abstract
Self-inflicted violence is characterized as a lesion one commits against oneself, in a conscious manner, and it can be influenced by a series of factors. Thus, there are several ways to manage the health cares in such cases, and each professional might act differently when faced with self-harm patients. Therefore, this paper aims to identify how health professionals working in Primary Healthcare act in cases of self-inflicted violence, i.e. to verify which practices are developed with such patients. This is a qualitative, descriptive, exploratory, and field research, which collected data through a semi-structured interview. Such data was analyzed with the Content Analysis proposed by Bardin (2016). The conclusion reached is that there still are weak points in the demeanor of healthcare professionals, due to lack of information and knowledge about how to care for patients of self-harm, as well as faults in the organization of the care network.
