Abstract

Calderyo-Barcia classifies as high-risk pregnancy “one in which the health of the mother or the newborn is more likely to be harmed than the average population considered”2.  This paper aims to evaluate the epidemiological profile of high-risk pregnant women attended at the Women's Clinic in the Bananal Island region in the state of Tocantins and to develop nursing actions with this clientele, described in the medical records.  It is a descriptive research;  with a quantitative and qualitative approach and field-documental feature, taking into account only the information contained in the prenatal care records and files. The study evaluated 293 medical records between April 2018 and April 2019. It was seen that 37.9% of pregnant women aged between 26 to 35 years, 47.4% of them were married, 74.74% lived in Gurupi, 35,49% housewives, 27% with pelvic surgery as personal history, 64.2% multiparous, 44% had normal delivery, 32% had bleeding as obstetric history, 17% generalized pain as clinical complication and 31.8% had more than 5  appointments with the doctor.  This study identified the epidemiological profile, but one of the obstacles found is related to the data described in the medical records which the professionals of the the area are not reporting properly.
