Abstract

The present study presents an analysis of anxious reactions in adolescents who are in line for adoption and live in shelters. Considering the presence of anxious behaviors at this stage of development, given the physical and emotional changes, the high number of adolescents growing up in support institutions and the difficulties encountered in the practice of late adoption, the main objective of the research was to identify the possible factors that generate anxiety in adolescents in this context. The research is applied in the field, with an exploratory and qualitative nature. For data collection, two scales with objective questions were used, which assess anxiety during adolescence. The sample consisted of two adolescents, in the category of adoption, of both sexes, aged 12 and 14 years old, residents of a philanthropic institution in the district of Luzimangues, Porto Nacional - TO. The collected data were analyzed from the Functional Analysis, being presented in tables, tables and comparative graphs of the anxiety scores that each participant reached. With the results obtained with the research, it was possible to observe anxiogenic aspects from the respondent, operative and verbal components in the participants' responses. With this, it is possible to verify that in addition to experiencing all the changes caused by the adolescence phase, the long period of stay in the institution and the arrival of the age of majority predispose to the emergence of anxious behaviors and feelings of doubt and insecurity about the future.
