Perfil Clínico de Motociclistas Acidentados e Hospitalizados em um Município do Extremo Oeste da Amazônia

Abstract

Traffic accidents represent a serious public health problem in the current scenario, being the second largest cause of external deaths in the country. To describe the clinical profile of injured and hospitalized motorcyclists in the city of Rio Branco, Acre. Retrospective study of secondary data, with a quantitative approach, collected in the SUS Hospital Information System (SIH / SUS), about accidents and hospitalizations involving motorcyclists in the city of Rio Branco, Acre, in the period from 2015 to 2017. After analyzing the data, it was found that 78.6% (1,381) males were the ones who most suffered hospitalizations due to motorcycle accidents in the city of Rio Branco-Acre, during the analyzed period. Regarding the age group, it is noteworthy that 28.2% (495) were between 20 and 29 years old and 27.5% (483) between 30 and 39 years old, these being the most injured / hospitalized age groups. As for the clinical outcome, it was found that 2.9% (51) died, of which (35) were male and (16) female. The description of the clinical profile of injured and hospitalized motorcyclists in the city of Rio Branco-Acre, reflects the need for the adoption of educational, preventive and inspection measures.
