Children’s nutritional status and child health relationship

Abstract

The nutritional status of an individual goes far beyond the body expression it presents, as it is understood that there is a need for a balance between everything that is going to be ingested is the body's expenditure of this energy that is being ingested, this is the way of providing the body with strength to supply its individual nutritional needs. To analyze the nutritional status of children aged 0 months to 2 years, who visit the Health Education Clinic - CEPS. Research on secondary descriptive bases and quantitative analysis. For data collection, 215 outpatient records were analyzed and 122 selected, according to the criteria of 0 to 2 years of age and in the period from January to December. The study showed that 69.7% of the children consulted by nursing, have an appropriate body mass index (BMI) for their age. In this way, the study demonstrates that these children, for all evaluated standards, are classified as nourished, eutrophic and adequate nutritional status, confirming the importance of nutritional monitoring, therefore, we believe that there is a need for investment and encouragement of awareness in regarding the implementation of the childcare program in Basic Health Units.
