Cost minimization analysis study of intubation kits used in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) for patients with Covid -19

Abstract

According to data from the World Health Organization (WHO), the COVID-19 outbreak began in China in December 2019. In Brazil, the first case of the disease was reported on February 25, 2020 and the number of people affected by the virus has grown gradually since then. With this, the growth of diseases worldwide is alerting to the current moment in which we are moving towards the aggravation of diseases, in which people in different age groups and gender develop the serious form of Covid-19, therefore, it needs an intensive treatment, using the units with the proper preparation of medication and professionals. Brazilian government, with the high numbers of infected people, there was no way out in the creation of more beds, however, the increase in the cost of medicines or "intubation kits'' for patients who need an Intensive Care Unit - ICU, however, the high demand throughout the country in the purchase of medicines comes from the high values that must be evaluated pharmacoeconomically for the bidding of the drugs to be used.
