Abstract

Leprosy is considered a public health problem, as it is one of the oldest diseases that affects the world population, and which is still incident today, which places it among the diseases of compulsory notification and mandatory investigation. In this sense, the objective of the research to identify the role of the Primary Health Care Nurse in the follow-up and treatment of patients with Hansen's disease. To carry out the study, if the methodological procedures adopted in the literature, which use a systematic methodology. The final sample consisted of 5 articles, whose target audience was Primary Health Care Nurses. It is noted that the role of the Nurse in the monitoring and treatment of leprosy patients, still has some gaps related to the prevalence of the Biomedical method in behavior of professionals, where a nurse's assistance has been offered in a mechanized way, not paying attention to the client's guidelines, which is not the case with leprosy is fundamental, for the fulfillment of all the dosages prepared in the pharmacological therapy corresponding to the clinical form presented for each customer. It is suggested that further studies be developed, seeking to emphasize the issue of the training of nursing professionals and the prevention of deformities that can occur in the most severe cases.
